Sorry for the sweeping subject heading! Is is just me or do men seem to have such a simple view of the female emotional spectrum?! I swear my OH thinks I only do happy or grumpy seemingly without understanding the in between!
So today has been a hard lockdown day with 3 young kids (Fighting) and bad weather so I wasn’t in a great place when he got home from work. Tonight looking at buying a puppy- been thinking of it for last 6 months but browsing and found an available lovely
Pup so showed him a pic. “We couldn’t get a puppy now”
me “why not?”
Him “because you can barely cope with the 3 kids”
Me 😡😡😡

PsQsAndFs You’re spot on- I know that’s exactly what I need to do. Sometimes it’s harder to practice what you preach so to speak. I’m not sure I’ve got the energy for it tonight but I will do.
I’ve been thinking about things today and think that I need to focus on doing things for myself and not to look for external sources for pleasure such as a pet, currently it’s eating too much chocolate so from tomorrow I’m going to expand my exercise routine as I always feel better when I put more effort into that.
Peoples stories have made me think though - we have so many toys in our house and I think another couple of years wait would be worth it before committing to a puppy.

On the other side, we got a pup when I was a single mum to five kids. Waited until the youngest went to school, mind, as I didn't want to try walking a dog with a buggy alongside all the time.

That dog was a star and all the kids have wonderful memories of growing up with him. But, big house in the countryside and I worked PT, so it was manageable.

Kids and dogs are a great combination, but, yes, maybe wait a little while.
