who knows a nice single Christian man in the London area?!

My friend is totally convinced that such a man does not exist.

She is 30.

Can anyone at least encourage her by saying that 'Yes, I do know such a man?'

It is really tough as most of her friends and her younger sisters are all married off.

She is fab and very artistic, but keen on meeting a practising Christian.

Please help her out!

Yes, I know such a man, but I'm afraid I don't know him well enough to set him up with your friend! BUT I do have a friend who met a man using some kind of Christian dating service and they are now married with one DD and another DC on the way. Don't know the details of the service they used but surely a google search for Christian dating might bear fruit?

My brother in law is 27 and in the Oxford area - he goes into London a lot for work. He's lovely (and Christian), he's in IT so doesn't meet a lot of girls.

I wish I could find him a nice woman

For your friend - maybe if she goes for a change to a HUGE worship church - can't remember the one in London - Kings something. Its massive - lots of tasty blokes there.

I definitely used to when I lived in London. Maybe if there aren't any in her Church she could try some other (bigger?) ones? Also a great way to meet people within a Church is to get involved with serving (e.g. with the youth group or children or catering or just about anything really)

bluejelly · 19/09/2007 16:37

My ex is christian. But he's not very nice...

Slubberdegullion · 19/09/2007 16:38

I used to go to HTB (Holy Trinity Brompton), that's huge with lots of attractive single men. I nearly married one, but he turned out to be a complete self obsessed maracca shaking weirdo. I'm sure some of them are relatively normal though.

hockeypuck · 19/09/2007 16:40

mammaduck - I have just the one for her!

He is based in Alton, only about 30 minutes by train from London. He works selling photographic equipment and is quite high up in that company.

He is the godfather to my DS. I lived with him for a year at uni. He's 33 and has been single for a while. He is a sarcastic git at times, but when you get to know him he's lovely.

Would it be inopportune to share photos so early?!

Definitely think there is a need for some kind of christian dating service, most of my single christian friends never have the nerve to do the dating thing so are single for ages. Maybe we could start up an arranged marriage thing mammaduck and rake in huge profits!!

lemonaid · 19/09/2007 16:40

All Souls Langham Place also big with lots of young and youngish single people and ooodles of activities.

ruty · 19/09/2007 16:42

Holy Trinity Brompton does tend to double as a dating agency for Christians. But it is very sloaney, right wing Evangelical not-exactly-into-having-a-social-conscience Alpha-Course kind of Christianity. If your sister can cope with that she's bound to find a man there.

Slubberdegullion · 19/09/2007 16:44

lol ruty...you have some happy experiences with HTB also?

ruty · 19/09/2007 16:45

sorry friend.

nappynuttynormabutty · 19/09/2007 16:45

I know one in the Surrey area...

ruty · 19/09/2007 16:45

[never actually been slubber but know people who have..grin] ]

Slubberdegullion · 19/09/2007 16:50

I had to run off to Australia to escape the (mild) cultish tendencies of HTB. It's an amazing church (and yes if your on the look out for a devout future spouse there's a large pool), but it's not for everyone.

ruty · 19/09/2007 17:06

bit of a glazed eye look in the people i've met from there, I think you're well rid.

lemonaid · 19/09/2007 17:08

You're doing a great job of selling it to mamaduck's friend there...

Slubberdegullion · 19/09/2007 17:10

Well I have HTB (and crazy ex fiance) to thank for causing me to run off to Australia and thus meet and marry heathen Welshman, so I can't slag it off too much.

ruty · 19/09/2007 17:19

LOL

mammaduck · 20/09/2007 14:08

Crumbs - this is a brilliant response.

I will email her the link to this and see what she says.

But do keep adding ideas - the more the merrier!

Many thanks!

There should be lots. At least, you find many nice Christian people at Hillsong Church.
