What to say to this friend?

I’m 30 and my friend is 33. Both single . But lately she has become really bitter about it and it’s dragging me down . I’ve been on quite a few failed dates but have tried .

She is basically saying we are hopeless because of our age etc. Other girls are prettier .She also said that I shouldn’t worry because pretty girls probably have bad personalities . I don’t agree with it being hopeless.

I usually enjoy her company but she seems to be a miser . She makes no effort to meet men anyway frankly and thinks Prince Charming will fall out the air .

Is there anything I can say to her to make her stop lumping me in with her negativity ?

You are doing the right thing putting yourself out there and meeting different people.

Try and distance yourself from her. You don’t need her negative energy to rub off on you. It sounds like she’s trying to bring you down to her level. If she refers to your situation as ‘hopeless’ again you should pull her up on it.

Tell her she needs to love herself before anyone else can (or will be interested) She needs to enjoy her life , new hobbies and have fun- happy people attract people

Ergh she is saying you are not pretty. That's horrible. Shes lobbing her insecurities onto you and trying to share them by telling you you are just like how she feels.
She sounds in a crap place to be dating. She should maybe give it a break for a bit and lay off on you. X
