Hello, this is my first ever post on this site and thread - I'm a 57 yr old bloke and I'm dipped my toe into OLD and I've been dating Ms Travel after first chatting for a couple of weeks and we've been on five dates since mid Feb. We've had several kiss and cuddle moments on the sofa and my place but its not gone further, my question is whether I should let Ms Travel take the lead beyond this stage? I want a proper relationship, I don't want to scare her off by being too forward or pushy but I want to be seen as confident enough to take it further - but I'm having a crisis of overthinking everything.

I joined this site to get a woman's viewpoint and insight to help me. Ms Travel is almost same age and has not stopped me from kissing or caressing her so far....

Talk to her & ask if she's ready to take it further.

Since mid February? Thats plenty of time for some people but no-where near enough for some. I'd not be ready for anything after 3 weeks I don't think.

Sally2791 · 08/03/2020 09:24

Talk about it! You won’t have a meaningful relationship without being able to discuss things.

Tellingitlikeitisnt · 08/03/2020 09:24

3 weeks?

Bloody hell I wouldn’t want to be having sex with you after only 3 weeks and if you asked when it was going to happen I’d think that was all you were after

PaterPower · 08/03/2020 09:31

Really? I think 3 weeks and 5 dates is long enough to be thinking (and asking) where she sees it going.

If she’s in her 50s, (likely divorced or had a longer term relationship and kids), she might not be feeling all that confident and is waiting for you to make the move.

FromTheEarth · 08/03/2020 09:36

Maybe leave it another week but I don't think there's any harm in at least talking about it.

She might be happy it hasn't gone any further yet, equally, she might be wondering why it hasn't.

This is about you wanting sex, not a relationship, as you have only focused on the physical side. That would massively put me off. I would want a potential partner to review 5 dates in terms of what he has learned about me, not how much physical action we've completed. You don't sound like someone who understands what a relationship is. I hope she runs a mile.

Fender222 · 08/03/2020 12:19

Actually @SummerWhisper its not about me wanting sex - it's about how to judge or pace things that's all and so I was asking for an insight. I know every situation is unique and despite what you may think I'm actually very respectful and genuine. We've chatted and had long dates where we've spoken at length and I've been very interested in her life and her work too. I'm sorry that you feel that she should run a mile away but everyone's entitled to their opinion.

I am grateful to everyone's comments and thoughts.
