Met my husband first day at Uni. Been together nearly 30 years! Still my best friend. Great to have a shared history & memories.

Marky1 · 20/01/2020 21:43

Yes me. We were 17 and 16 when we met. Been together 28 years. ❤️

meow1989 · 20/01/2020 21:48

Yup, 14 years in April. Married, baby, houseSmile

Lost87 · 20/01/2020 21:49

I'm always in awe of my parents relationship. They have been together since they were 11/12. Started off as the usual 1st school boyfriend/girlfriend then engaged at 16. They are now 61 and 62, 3 kids, 10 grandkids. They squabble and we laugh at their little tiffs coz they are never full blown arguments. In all my 33 years I dont think they have ever had a big argument or bust up. They are my couple goals ❤

Qwerty543 · 20/01/2020 21:49

Nope. Settling down young was a mistake.

ShowOfHands · 20/01/2020 21:50

Yep. 20 years.

vdbfamily · 20/01/2020 21:57

My husband and I met in our 30's. Neither been in love before. Neither slept with anyone else. Been married 18 years and never had a moment of regret. Love him to bits.

Itwontrainallthetime · 20/01/2020 21:59

We met at school but we were seeing each other since we were 14 (nothing serious) but inseperable, we've been together for 20years, married for 13 years this year. And 2 DC.
We were both each others first and still very much in love. I couldn't be without him, he's my everything.
Yes we've had alot of ups and downs but it never gets in the way of the love we have for each other.

Modestandatinybitsexy · 20/01/2020 22:02

Met my DH on the first day of sixth form. I'd had one bf before but I'd say this was our first serious relationship. We got married on our 10yr anniversary. Now nearly 15 years together with two dc, a house and DDog.

RhymingRabbit3 · 20/01/2020 22:04

Met at age 11 but obviously not dating then! We got together at 17 and are still going strong 12 years later. Married 5 years with one daughter and another on the way.

pallisers · 20/01/2020 22:05

My aunt and uncle were married for nearly 70 years and knew each other all their lives - she was the girl next door. Really happy. He died in his 90s.

I was dh's first love - in our 20s though. Still going strong many years later. I am glad I had a few relationships though - wouldn't want to be with the guy I dated at 17/18 and I wouldn't like my children to marry their first love either.

dragonsandfairies · 20/01/2020 22:06

Yep, 24 years later and wouldn't want anyone else.

He is one thing I'd never regret

amyb20 · 20/01/2020 22:06

Yep 31 years, I was 14 when we met.

Moreisnnogedag · 20/01/2020 22:11

Started dating at 16 (me) and 18, over 20 years together 2 DC. I’ve informed him that he can never leave me as I refuse to do online dating Grin

Piixxiiee · 20/01/2020 22:12

Yes, we knew each other vaguely as kids, both moved away for uni/work then re-met each other in our mid 20s. Almost 17 years later we've had some adventures and a few kids and honestly just look at each other and say wow arent we lucky! He had had a previous serious relationship but realised now it wasnt love. I never had a serious relationship before him. I literally knew he was the one on our first date.

SecondTimeCharm · 20/01/2020 22:13

yep, 14 years this May. married with two DDs

AMomHasNoName · 20/01/2020 22:13

I met my first love when we were both 17 , it's now 15 years and 4 kids later :)

Fujexa · 20/01/2020 22:16

Yup, met at 17 and 18, now in our thirties, married, house, dogs and very happy 😁 he's all I want in life

boredboredboredboredbored · 20/01/2020 22:16

My parents have been together since they were 14, so 50 years. Mum says she still gets butterflies when he picks her up from work ❤️

PixieDustt · 20/01/2020 22:18

Yes. Knew DP since we were 11 & 12 he used to wind me right up but there was always something there.
He had always fancied me since he was 11. We were still friends and had relationships although the recently said to me ' I just knew no one could compare to you' 😫. We lost contact for about a year and I was out on a night out at uni and I heard a familiar voice call my name and the rest is history.
We got together when we were 18 & 19. Been together 9 years this year and 1 DC. 🥰

ofay · 20/01/2020 22:20

Yes, 53 years. He's morphed into a very annoying old man though, so might not make 54.

HelpMeHelpTheKids · 20/01/2020 23:51

I was, but I'm just about to divorce him after 22 years together. We were still very much in love and if it weren't for his behaviour, I think we'd have made it into old age. I think it's entirely possible for the right people.

Imperialmeasurements · 21/01/2020 00:02

DH and I got together when both 16yo. We’re now 60 and still together.

WindyMiller1020 · 21/01/2020 00:08

Yep, we've been together since I was 15 and he was 17. We got married just after our 11 year anniversary.

I think young relationships often only last if theres no pressure in the early years, ie waiting til you're out of your teenage years before having kids/getting engaged/getting married
