NC with family - did they initiate or you? Has anyone reversed it?

How did it go? This time of year is heartbreaking - waiting for contact when you have been scapegoated and excluded from family.

I initiated NC with mine. Best thing I ever did. The scapegoating and resolutions etc were continual stress growing up. Now I am in control and much more stable and happy.

Accept they are shit, expect nothing so you won’t be disappointed.
I promise that once you make your peace with how things are your life will be better. You can feel sad for not having a better family and miss having A family without missing these people.

I was the one who went NC and I only wish I had done it sooner. (I'll never reverse it) Now christmas and just life in general is so much better. They aren't worth your energy, don't give them the satisfaction of waiting around for them.

I came to terms years back I would never have the ideal family or even a semi decent one. Once I did it was like a burden had been lifted. I know the picture perfect family is rammed in everyone's faces this year but not everyone has that and that's totally fine.
