AIBU to think that the world would be a better place if someone set up a dadsnet?

Am new to mumsnet and it has rescued me from making a huge headfuck mistake. Better than counselling cos it's a proper sisterhood (sorry for any men reading this now. But It's, what 99% women on here?). Wise, funny, brutal. No punches spared but full of wisdom and empathy. Have I just been lucky?

and a gransnet

LoveNote · 14/12/2019 19:51

but no,mumsnet has plenty of men here too.....its for parents not exclusively women

dootball · 14/12/2019 19:54

I thought wisdom and empathy were often in short supply here.

Jog22 · 14/12/2019 20:31

Wisdom and empathy seem great here. Not so much over on Step Parenting!

Keepithidden · 14/12/2019 20:53

No, Dadsnet doesn't seem to work unfortunately. I know there are a myriad of other male dominated fora, but try getting the other side on Pistonheads et al and in my experience you hit a brick wall. Mumsnet is great for Dads like me as I get to see the (generally) women's perspectives.

Could be a function of toxic masculinity, but having the people here give me some home truths has been and is still invaluable. I feel I can be more open and honest and receive the same in response.

Did you not even bother to google "dadsnet"?

Just had a peek. There was one good thread. But got a bit bored after a bit. Keepithidden. Toxic masculinity. There's a topic and a half.
