What went wrong?

A newish relationship just ended today. He broke up with me. Apparently he can't give me what I want (I didn't ask for anything) and I was getting too serious. He started conversations about plans for next year...moving in, holidays, family events etc. I joined in of course but it was never just me. He's made it sound like I was needy and wanting a ring when really we just saw each other at the weekend, went for dinner and texted during the week. I don't think anyone will have an answer really....I'm just getting it out.

He sounds like a love-bomber! You've had a lucky escape.

Whatisthisfuckery · 31/10/2019 20:52

He’s probably had his fun and got bored. It says much more about him than it does about you. Be glad you’ve had a lucky escape.

Fuck all went wrong. He is a twat, thats all. You found out. Finished.

AFistfulofDolores1 · 31/10/2019 21:34

Contrary to what you might think, OP, his talk about going on holiday and moving in, so soon after you met, go hand-in-hand with his accusations that 'you were getting too serious'. It's entirely projection on his part, and now he's running scared because he caught himself out. He has commitment issues; he is avoidant.

I know it might hurt, but don't be confused: it's quite straightforward when you see it in the context of a man who cannot take a good look at himself, nor accept responsibility for his attachment issues.

These men are nuts....
Been there, done that. 1 minute HE initiates driving round the countryside looking at houses he wants US to live then... which i find slightly forward but interesting I guess. Suddenly he is running out the door because I wanted to know if we were still seeing each other on Friday after he made the plans as its "too much".

As Pp said... love bombers... but I know it hurts. Mourning then"what if"... and the possible future you might of had but suddenly the rug has been pulled through no fault of your own.

He isnt ready to settle down, had his fun, now he is off to rinse and repeat.

Sorry men are absolutely a-holes sometimes.

Thank you all. I was really starting to feel like it was me
