be civil to my father.
history:
dh doesnt get on with my father, and thats fine, he has done some rotten things, but for my sanitys sake and my kids i'd like a civil relationship, dh finds this incredible hard to do - infact he wont - and thus i end up with a huge stress on me if my father calls by (for no more than 15 mins)

dhs uncle is so intolerant of my children and says things like " you should be seen and not heard" crap, and "off to bed with you you litle XxxXX (some silly word)" " oh dont be bold, you naughty little boy"
they are 3 and nearly 5.
and this si in my house. and i get so irked by it. and he makes me feel like oh you must be a crap parent that they behave like this.

I would tell the uncle that your children are not naughty the next time he says that and similar responses to other comments.
I don't know how to deal with your dh and dad though?
