Nice to balance up the ones with us ranting.

Having seen friends with useless husbands - mine doesn't tend to see the mess, but I have just walked into him (playing with DC for a change rather than the computer ) and asked him to run to tesco (end of the road) as dinner is nearly cooked and we have no rice.

No groaning or whinging, just put his shoes on and asked which rice.

I know it is only a little thing, but I whinge about him so much, it is nice to have something good to say

(Oh, and him ok-ing me not going on holiday )

Mines doing a triathlon next year Franny! Oh and he's pretty OK too! He's creating something for dinner atm, so he knows the way to my heart! (Slight downer, he's just told me he's bidding on a boat on Ebay!) But in light of the 'lets big up our husbands' theme, I suppose he worked hard for the money, so he can spend it how he pleases!

milfAKAmonkeymonkeymoomoo · 08/08/2007 19:19

Mine has been even more fabulous recently. Am pregnant and having a very rough ride of it (lots of bleeding) so i can't do anything too strenuous. He has been doing everything for me on top of his work plus getting me lots of little treats and being generally lovely... sigh...

i have a fab hubby too, he does all the cooking, all the gardening.

i very rarely pay for anything when we go out, he will take dd out for the day so that i can get the house work done uninterrupted and after 11 years together he still likes to squeeze my bum and tell me he still fancies me, even when i look like a troglodite.

harrisey · 08/08/2007 23:29

Mine is being a housedad all weeek this week as there is a course I wanted to do.
I know he should pitch in, but he's been depressed and finds the kids really hard work at the moment (as do I - they ARE hard work right now) but every night I have come home to a titdy house, happy kids, chilled white wine, nice tea, and he even invited people round for tea and had their kids and ours fed and sitting infront of a dvd and our meal coked when I got home.
He has taken the kids for eye tests, gone to tesco, done all the washing and dishes and hoovered every day.
THis is more than I ever do!

He is lovely!

unknownrebelbang · 08/08/2007 23:33

I've got a great fella too.

He's far more tolerant of my foibles than I am of his.

swalesie · 08/08/2007 23:43

Ive been wanting to tell you all how fab my dp is for sooo long, not wanted to brag really. But.....

when he's at home (works away 4 weeks at a time) he does most of, well i mean all of really the house work, and cooks every night. Takes me out to expensive restaurants, buys me nice dresses and shoes, Is sooo amazing with baba, gets up every morning with him so i can lie in. Has also just offered to cook a dinner party for me and my friends and when he's fed us all he'll go out and leave us to it, bless!

Also paid for my parents to go abroad for the first time ever because the could never afford to, (he's not a millionare just very kind).

This isnt just the first flush of love, we've been together 5 years now and he just keeps getting better and better.
Oh and he's well hot!!!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 08/08/2007 23:43

My DH is fab.

he sent me a "happy halfway" bunch of flowers when I was pregnant as I'd had two previous MCs.

after DD was born (by c-section) he took a month off work and did everything around the house and looked after our five year old DS, did all the shopping and did a lymphatic drainage massage on my hideously swollen feet and ankles three times a day. He did all the nappy changes as well during this time. All I had to do was feed DD and cuddle our DS.

he truly is lovely

onlyWotz · 08/08/2007 23:57

Well I wouldn't swap him

incase I got something back older and more wrinkly

welliemum · 09/08/2007 01:23

Good one here too

UmSami · 09/08/2007 01:36

Mines lovely too - most of the time!
He's not a romantic - his attitude is I married you therefore I love you, end of! BUT...
When he's at home (he's frequently away on business) he cooks, cleans, plays with ds, and does the shopping, as well as working - BLESS HIM, I don't know why he puts up with me!

mymama · 09/08/2007 01:53

My dh is fab. He plays with the dc, reads them stories and teaches them things I wouldn't think of. He diy's everything in the house, brings me a cup of tea in bed every morning and late at night and gives me a foot massage most nights. Last week he picked me up from a girl's night out and drove all my drunken friends home.

ghosty · 09/08/2007 02:27

Ivor Goodun

He has his moments (not very chatty and doesn't 'get' my emotional side very well) but in the main he is a good man, a good husband and fabulous father. Easy on the eye too. I think he has got better looking as he has got older - he's a bit like wine or cheese or something.

Flowertots · 09/08/2007 02:41

My dh is an ABSOLUTE DREAM!!! Puts up with my constant moaning, is trying to be more tidy and is generally a wonderful husband and father. Don't know what I'd do without him (apart from maybe clean less)

suzywong · 09/08/2007 02:44

right, well have him washed and perfumed and dressed in his best when I come over in November, ghosty, he can light our fags and bring us drinks at the bottom of your garden.

Mine's a diamond and all, and yes I think he has got far better looking as he gets older, but then he looks 10 years younger than he is, good bone structure

Marls001 · 09/08/2007 02:52

This is a GREAT thread.

Mine is HOT. All muscle and dark skin.

Helps of course that he's a kind person and doting father ...
