Marriage not on the cards - what a relief!

So, after more than 3 years in a very easy going relationship, we finally dared to have the conversation about marriage. Turns out neither of us want it and both of us were nervous that the other did which is why it never got discussed before.

I'm divorced, he's never married, we're both in our 40s and can't see any point in it for us. We both value our independence and can't even see us moving in together unless it became financially necessary.

It's such a relief that we both want (or don't want!) the same thing Grin

Sounds like a winner, I'm married but have never lived with DH , he lives 60 miles away, just exactly where I found him on Tinder, five years ago. Works for us. We're stupidly happy! It's the future I tell you!! 😁

Doesn't suit everybody.

Some people meet, fall in love and build a future together, look after each other.

But it's not for everyone as the divorce rate would indicate.

As long as you're in the same page.

This set up would be my utopia

Robin2323 I'm not saying everyone has to do it, just what a relief it is that I'm with someone who thinks the same and we've both voiced the same opinions about it.

Onemansoapopera & P0ttery the feeling of being loved and being free to be myself is one I never had in my previous 20+ year relationship / marriage and I LOVE IT!!!

Loving your arrangement Grin

If I was in your shoes, I’d want exactly the same arrangement and future, marriage would be so pointless. Glad you both want the same thing.

Something about marriage and ‘some’ men seems to indicate ‘you can have it all , but do it all’
