A little bit stupid but need an opinion.

I'm after a divorce and only recently gone back into the dating game so I'm trying to be careful and take everything with a pinch of salt as they say.

I been with my boyfriend let's call him for over 2 months now, we taking things slow and he seems genuine nice and really sweet.
He of course says all the sweet things all the time as they do when they want to be nice. I haven't seen him for over a week due to certain reason from my side, everyday he kept telling me how he missed me and couldn't wait to see me etc. Anyways we agreed he was gonna see me today (I been really looking forward to it as I had a horrible time the last two weeks and needed a cheer me up, he knew that). 3 hours before I'm supposed to see him I get a text he can't see me tonight cuz something came up (some bad news but they are major and he can't sort them out tonight) and he had a drink.

Before you all judge me I been out of dating for so long that I'm struggling to read him and suss him out but I don't like the fact that he put a drink before me? Am I right to think that or am I overthinking it guys? Please be as honest as possible with me even if you think I'm crazy and overreacting
