Advice for friend - lone parent & lack of contact

Hi all
Im posting this for a friend.
Hes split from gf they have ds age 3, he was looking after ds everynight & weekends whilst she worked. She looked after ds whilst he worked.
She went to stay with her parents 2 hours away with their ds, & never came back. Since then she has allowed him 2 facetime calls, & 1 visit at her parents.
Anyone know if he can get some care of his ds back? Hes in bits, hes going to a solicitor later this week.
Thanks in advance

So when they were together, she was working nights and weekends in addition to looking after the child during the day?

OR

Was this after they split?

Either way, if there's no history of abuse or violence, of course he can get contact put in place.

Sorry i mean evenings for 3 hours not nights, yes this was before they split. Hes at witsend, really missing his ds

It's really irrelevant that he cared for his DS whilst his partner was at work. That's just what parents do.

Obviously he misses him though. My question would be why has his ex run away like this? People don't usually run off from the parent of their child unless there's violence or abuse. Has there been?

No theres definitely not been any violence or abuse.

Well then court will likely order that he has a fair amount of contact.

Thank you, i thought it might be one for the courts ..
