Or more likely Labour doesn’t have an Oxbridge educated Maggie Thatcher clone to wheel out whenever there’s a problem. Remember Teresa May wasn’t initially chosen by the people (she volunteered) and most people only elected her in for the second term because they wanted her to see Brexit through.

Labour’s last “Oxbridge educated Maggie Thatcher clone” was called Tony Blair.

And look how well regarded he is these days. Spookily enough, he took after Maggie in that regard too.

It proves nothing of the sort. What a strange claim.

And what, pray, has this got to do with the topic of "Relationships"?

lakemountain · 03/07/2019 23:45

Labour should be ashamed that the Tories have had two women leaders, both of whom became PM, and also the SNP, Greens, UKIP, Plaid Cymru, DUP, Sinn Fein etc etc have all had women leaders but Labour hasn’t. It’s pathetic.

They had the opportunity to elect the excellent Yvette Cooper in 2015, but they elected a useless third-rate man instead.

Margaret Beckett was party leader between John Smith and Tony Blair
