Hi, I'm a newbie, but have been 'just looking' for a while.
I'd appreciate your opinion, although the more I'm writing this down the stupider it sounds.
So here goes....your OH has a desktop 'note' on his laptop of a mans number, but when you call it...….a woman answers. I also put it into WhatsApp and a womans pic appears.....what would you think?

WhiteLightTrainWreck · 12/06/2019 22:09

How do you know its a mans number? Has he told you or have you made that assumption from the name?

Whatisnottolike · 12/06/2019 22:11

It's a sure fire man's name...like under Richard for example xx

Takeitonthechin · 12/06/2019 22:12

Why were you looking at this, do you suspect he's being unfaithful OP?

DianaT1969 · 12/06/2019 22:15

Does he only use a landline? Why would he need to write it down and display it at home when he could just save it in his phone?
What made you call a post it note on his computer?

marvellousnightforamooncup · 12/06/2019 22:17

I can think of one reason. Sorry OP.
Sad

ConfCall · 12/06/2019 22:18

So he has it saved as Richard but it actually belongs to a Rachel.

Yes, that seems suspicious. Unless they’re a couple who share a phone (unlikely if they’re under 75). Or it could be a business phone that they both operate.

Are you suspicious for other reasons?

SleepingStandingUp · 12/06/2019 22:19

It seems odd he's got his LW's phone number on a desktop note rather than in his phone.

What made you call it?

WhiteLightTrainWreck · 12/06/2019 22:22

Is the name interchangeable with a surname if it's definitely a mans name?
Is there any chance she could be something to do with work?
Could she be involved in something for you, i.e he's planning a surprise (obviously you wouldn't know for definite)

I wouldn't think it's that suspicious, especially as the number is displayed somewhere very obvious. Have you asked him what the numbers for? Just make it an observation and ask him "bit random to have Richards number saved there, what's it for?"

rosedream · 12/06/2019 22:23

I answer my H phone if he's not in the room as he does mine.
I don't think this is suspicious unless you have other reasons to believe it is.

Whatisnottolike · 12/06/2019 22:25

I was considering something underhand for a while, he is a 'techie' and tonight I found a few 'sharing' things on my laptop that I was unaware of. So for the example, he has taken a screen shot of his desktop, and it is titled ' RichardSmith' with number (eg the name is of somebody he knew 20 yrs ago) but when I call it, it's a woman.
He has also seemingly been very 'audit' wise, so the previous 6 mth 'desktop picture' does not contain the same 'note'. If that makes sense xx

OP posts:
SleepingStandingUp · 12/06/2019 22:33

So he's taken screen shots of his desktop regularly and they're on your laptop?

The newest has an old friends name with a number but when you called it it was a woman?

Whatisnottolike · 12/06/2019 22:33

Thank you for your advice, I do appreciate it xx

OP posts:
Whatisnottolike · 12/06/2019 22:34

Yes sleepingstandingup, that is right.

OP posts:
MrMagooooo · 12/06/2019 22:35

I can only think of one reason I would ever do that.

Whatisnottolike · 12/06/2019 22:36

Ps they are on a 'shared drive'.

OP posts:
SleepingStandingUp · 12/06/2019 22:37

Why would he put his mistresses number in your laptop?

I would definately have to ask.

OldAndWornOut · 12/06/2019 22:38

I would think that he has saved a woman's number under a mans name, deliberately.

Chocmallows · 12/06/2019 22:40

Can you do a photo reverse for her photo, Google reverse? Someone on here can probably add a link, I have heard it can work well to find out names. Then look on FB, do some digging.

Whatisnottolike · 12/06/2019 22:44

Sorry to miscommunicate, the screenshot of his desk top is not on my laptop, but our 'sharing' capability, which I just found tonight.
The name is of a guy that he used to mention, somewhat 20 years or so ago ( we have been together 20 + years) and he hasn't mentioned him for over 18 years, so I was surprised to see his desktop 'snapshot' holding his name....it just seemed weird. I guess I just wanted....I'm not so sure what I wanted really …..

OP posts:
SleepingStandingUp · 12/06/2019 22:47

The guys Widow?

Agree try reverse screen shot

Still seems an odd way to store his mistresses number

Whatisnottolike · 12/06/2019 22:49

How do I do that, sorry...I am an oldie xx

OP posts:
Chocmallows · 12/06/2019 23:14

I found this on Google search...
"Google’s ‘search by image’ feature is only available for desktop computers and not on mobile devices and tablets. Thus, if a friend has sent you an image on WhatsApp or Facebook that you’d like to verify, you’ll have to first transfer the photograph to a desktop and then perform a reverse search. Too much work, right?

Not anymore. Meet Reverse Photos, an online tool that lets you perform reverse image searches on mobile phones. Go to reverse.photos on your mobile phone, click the “Upload Image” button and choose an image from the photo gallery of your phone. Next click “Show Matching Images” and it will feed your photo into Google’s image database and show visually similar photos."

Chocmallows · 12/06/2019 23:15

BTW I'm an oldie and not tried, but heard it works!

OldAndWornOut · 12/06/2019 23:17

www.tineye.com/
