I had to go home early from work today, long story short whilst my 13 year old sister was visiting grandparents abroad she met their “friend” . She has been home a month, she mentioned today this "friend" who we know nothing about is buying her an expensive gift, after asking to see messages, Turns out he has been grooming her. The text messages are absolutely horrific and vile. The police are coming to my sisters tomorrow to take statements (my youngest sister lives with my eldest). Can’t help but feel like because he’s abroad he will get away with it, after researching there is someone the same age , same name, on the sex offenders register for 16 counts of sexual abuse to his step daughter and one other person. I feel it might be him but can't be sure. Feel so sick and angry.

Poor kid. Can you speak to a children’s charity for advice? I suppose you don’t want to let the grandparents know in case they let the person know and he tried to cover or all up

They've already confronted him which we didn't want! But too late now. Will see what the police suggest in the morning I suppose.

It’s sickening isn’t it. I’m sure the grandparents are feeling bloody terrible - but these snakes are so very sneaky.

They are, he had been buying them presents too!! Grooming the whole family. Absolute scum!

Yes you are right - grooming the family. I hope to god neither of them goes around and gives him a hiding - they would only end up in trouble (if it’s like here).
