Hi All,

For my Birthday my DP had booked a hotel for June.

He has said he has also booked the restaurant (and will not tell me where it is). However he said last month the earliest time he could get was 8pm! For the end of June! So it's all booked up over a month in advance. So must be somewhere fancy. We usually just go to spoons or a local indian at best!

I don't really want to know where we're going as it'll spoil the surprise. But any idea why!? There's nothing significant about June for either of us.

Our 4 year anniversary is in July but we'd really been talking for 4 1/2 years by then.

That's exciting!! When is/was your birthday?
Is it the June date or the 8pm dinner that you're questioning the lateness of?
When you say the restaurant is it the hotel restaurant or a separate venue? It may be that the date he could get in there dictated the hotel booking.
Have a brilliant time all the same.

It was really just the mystery of it & I've never heard of anywhere where you have to book months in advance! I don't think it's at the hotel no, not even sure they have a restuarant.

Perhaps he has given himself some time to save up some extra pennies to treat you to something extra nice? With a January birthday I can imagine elaborate gifts could sometimes be tricky what with the post-Christmas pinch?

For instance, it was my bf birthday in March but I had loads of outgoing that's month. I obviously still got him some nice things to open on his actual bday but his "big" gift was a special day out and a hotel stay....for the end of April I said it was nice to have something to look forward to. Really it was because I wanted to save up some money to make it a real treat for him on the hotel weekend.
