Does your DH/P compliment you when dressed for a night out?

As the title says, when you get ready for a night out whether with Dh or not, do they say "do you like" my DH used to say this most times but not as much lately, maybe I'm being too sensitive as i do over think things.

Typo, was meant to say do they say"you look nice "

Everytime. Either a "swit swoo" or some other comment. To be fair, I don't even need to be very dressed up, just wearing something that isn't my usual jeans and t-shirt!

collectingcpd · 20/04/2019 19:42

Always .

supadupapupascupa · 20/04/2019 19:42

Yes, always

Happyspud · 20/04/2019 19:44

Not always, maybe not even often. But I know I look nice and if I asked him he’d say it. I don’t need him to tell me I look nice to know he loves me and appreciates me.

LemonTT · 20/04/2019 19:45

Yes

VictoriaBun · 20/04/2019 19:47

Nope ! Also does not notice new clothes or trips to the hairdressers !

bodgersmash · 20/04/2019 19:47

Ex DP used to say "who are you getting all dolled up for?". And thought that was a compliment. Gave me the rage.

ChristmasFluff · 20/04/2019 20:37

Even the abusive ex used to say it. Yup, every partner I've ever had. However long I was with them. Even when they were cheating on me.

Duchessgummybuns · 20/04/2019 20:41

Always. And when I’m not dressed up at all. I try to compliment him too Smile

daffydowndilys · 20/04/2019 20:41

No. Once after losing about 3 stone I wore a skirt for the first time in years. We were on holiday, I made a huge effort and I looked great. He never said a word, ever since then I've not looked for it!

He is otherwise a lovely guy, just utterly clueless.

Autumnchill · 20/04/2019 20:42

Doesn't have to be a night out, just dressing for work and he'll say 'you look nice', if he knows I've got an important meeting then 'go get them tiger' etc

fullprice · 20/04/2019 20:44

Not always. My partner tells me he often thinks it but isn’t very good at vocalising it.
I often ask him ‘do I look pretty etc.
I know he loves me so it doesn’t bother me much

OhTheRoses · 20/04/2019 20:45

No but he tells me he loves me every night before we go to sleep and every mornong when he wakes me up and often adds in he doesn't know what he'd do without me.

MayFayner · 20/04/2019 20:45

Yes, always.

Also, whenever I say “oh I better go and get ready” he will say “you look good as is”, which, even leaving terrible grammar aside, is complete bullshit, bless him. As if I’m going to go out for the evening in leggings and a misshapen jumper with toddler snot all over the shoulder 😂

Yes. We both compliment each other every day pretty much.

Little things mean alot sometimes 😊

FromDespairToHere · 20/04/2019 21:04

Yes. Because I stand in front of him and clear my throat until he does. I occasionally need to do a twirl or stamp my foot...

Happynothappy · 20/04/2019 22:27

My DH used to say it often but since gaining weight not as oftenHmm

Moomoomoomoomoo · 20/04/2019 22:31

Yes. Always. And so does my DS, which is lovely.

Butteredghost · 20/04/2019 22:33

Nope, never had a compliment like that except on my wedding day. Once I had dressed up nicely, and tried to prompt him by saying "do you like my dress?" He replied "Why? Do you think you look good?" Ouch!

I haven't learned my lesson because I recently lost 15kg and bought a new pair of skinny jeans. I put them on and asked him how I looked. He said the jeans were a nice shade of blue. Sad

willdoitinaminute · 20/04/2019 22:38

Always. I rarely wear makeup for work ( have to wear a face mask so it never stays on for long) but make an effort when not working. I put on some linen trousers and a nice top today and my DS 14 asked me what did I think I looked like? DH was more complimentary so must be a generation thing.
I think he was worried that we were planning to go out for the day and wasn’t impressed as it would mean wearing proper clothes rather than his PJs which he has lived in since breaking up for Easter.

Xyzzzzz · 20/04/2019 22:39

Yes always

BentBaastard · 20/04/2019 22:43

Always

BarnamintBaileys · 20/04/2019 22:43

He used to, but hasn’t done for years.
