Boyfriend Suddenly Distant

Ladies, I am really at a loss. My boyfriend of a year and a half has gone distant on me...very nearly in the blink of an eye. Approximately 2 weeks ago, we talked, and there were no red flags at all in the conversation. Nothing about being stressed at work. Nothing about stuff going on personally.

Then, he suddenly just stopped reaching out to me, and he would reply when I contacted him, but he was putting forth very little effort into reaching me. The last text conversation we had (Thursday), I found out he had a pretty stressful situation going on at work. I haven't heard from him since. I want to give him space, but a part of me is worried that there is more to the story.

I also found out that he deactivated his Facebook account, which he was never active on anyway, so I didn't even really notice it until I went to look.

AIBU? Should I give him space? Should I cut things off now?

Awww I'm sorry! It's horrible when these types of things happen. Just remember it wasn't you, be kind to yourself and you'll be okay.

BrewCakeThanks

I’m sorry love. I hope he seeks help when he’s ready and that you’re okay Flowers

Aw I’m sorry!

Wherever the hell you are or whatever you’re doing, I hope you’re cosy and know your worth so much more than this shitty situation ❤️

Thanks ladies. It's really tough, because this time last year is when we met. So, I think back to a year ago when we were so full of hope and happiness.

Next week, I'll be at a restaurant that we shared together.

So, there are all these little things that make it difficult, and add to it that it is all so fresh, and add to that the fact that I am losing someone I consider a friend, someone I care about...that makes it hard.

You’ll never know the answers so do not put yourself through it. I’m the type who hates unanswered gut feelings but try to see this as a completely clean break and move on. It’ll hurt less, quicker that way.

Hugs

Sorry OP..that sucks

@MushuPorkyPig sorry for the late reply. It got worse and like you, I went into my analysis mode, going through texts, dates, holidays e.t.c but no signs of the new development at the time.

He would go days without even texting me as a result, I would text him a few days later as I didn't want to come across as pushy, then he'd reply later blaming it on his anxiety and depression as well as work.

I didn't know whatelse to think as it kept going and I'm not the one to chase. So we ended up breaking up, which was really sad as I thought we had it good.

I hope yours turns out the opposite Flowers

Oh shit, I've just read your updates. I'm really sorry to hear he broke it off. I do sympathise with you, most cases as this end up in break ups. So sorry Flowers X
