friend who drains me! what can i do

i have a friend who phones me every other day for an hour at a time. Its always about her problems and her day. Even when I have been unwell and unable to speak and have gone through a bereavment, she will still phone me and tell me her stress.

i like her-but think of getting rid of the landline phone so she wont phone so much!
shes getting more out of the relationship than I am

Erm... if she always ring at the same time, stop picking up the phone until she becomes used not to ring you every other day.

get an answerphone and screen calls. Don't answer more than you feel able to.

HAve you told her that you can't talk/have things going on you would like to talk about?

It is exhausting, especially if you have so much else on your plate.
