Boyfriend always looking for a fight

My boyfriend and I (3 years together) have started just arguing over lots of little things.
It seems like he’s always looking for a fight; lots of answering back, petty comments.

He can’t have a drink without us going into some sort of huge argument over nothing, when he wakes up he’s fine.

I 80% of the time just bite my lip and ignore his comments, but it’s getting so bloody tiring. Other peoole, including his mum, have mentioned that he gets so arsey after a drink, or is often really grumpy.

What can I do other than tell him to change or I’ll walk?

So you think he's trying to force you to break up with him?

AttilaTheMeerkat · 04/04/2019 08:32

Such men do not change; this is who he is.

Why are you still with him?. What are you getting out of this relationship?

Some relationships last a lifetime. Some last for a certain length of time. It just sounds as though your relationship has come to a natural end to be honest. Nothing wrong with that we just need to move on.

One thing I would say though is to avoid heavy drinkers at all costs. I've been surrounded by them (family members) all my life and they are either drunk, or nasty and irritable coz they're waiting till they can have their next drink 🙁

Imagine this for the next 50 years and how it's going to grind you down every time it happens. You'll end up on edge every time there's drink around. In my experience of two people like this, they will never ever change and in fact get worse over the years.

People don't change for others, only when they want to change, and that day may never come. Meanwhile, your life is ticking by. I don't know what you want out of life in terms of career, family, etc, but every day you waste with the wrong guy is another day of your life where you are moving forward towards your real goals.

Don't be attracted to difficult, moody men. They aren't worth it - believe me!

*where you are NOT moving forward FFS

He won’t change though, will he. If he didn’t want to be that person, he wouldn’t. Tell him the truth, you don’t want to have to put up with this for the rest of your life. Can you imagine what it would be like with children? It’s time to walk.
