Has anyone been speed dating?

Thinking about going speed dating, more for a bit of fun.

Has anyone done it? How was it?

I'm in London if anyone can recommend an event.

Yes, years ago. Wasn't particularly looking for a partner. Went with a much prettier friend who was. It was great fun. You chat to lots of people briefly. My friend was picked but not me.

I went twice (probably about 12 years ago, when I was single). The first time I’m pretty sure most of them were on coke. They seemed off their face twitchy (it was 6pm on a Tuesday, for context though). The 2nd time I got grilled on my surname by one who was clearly trying to work out if my family pedigree was suitable to him or not.

I didn’t meet anyone (I met my dh the old fashioned way, through friends while at a bar). But certainly made it easier to clear through people I wasn’t interested in. No harm done. And I got to have a cocktail while I did it.
