Experiences/marriage counselling advice

After only 18 months and still in our 30s our marriage is in crisis. I got pregnant quickly (planned) and whilst DD is my whole world our marriage pretty much went downhill from that BFP. I was quite unwell during the 1st trimester and there were concerns about baby and me in the 3rd trimester. The dynamics of the relationship didnt shift and I feel I wasnt treated with any real care or compassion. DH simply checked out although he did like it as a convenient excuse to have unpaid days off of work (because who needs money with a baby right!). I had a shit birth and horrible time in hospital with a very poorly DD. There was no compassion or support there.

Me and DH seem unable to communicate and work as a team despite loving each other. DD loves him like he's the sun to her earth so I want to try and get to a better place. Has anyone had any positive experience of marriage counselling? I've started putting the feelers out for therapists. Is there anything we should be looking for?
