Talking about himself

I was talking with a friend today and we landed on different sides of the coin on this. She thinks if a man tells you about himself or his past /life then he likes you whereas I think he could just be friendly /chatty...?

Or maybe it's both?

Or maybe he’s just really keen on himself... I’ve had a few dates who talked AT me, about themselves, for the entire time. It was painful.

To be fair to her, she doesn't mean in an annoying way. It's someone she works with and he does seem to share personal info with her but I don't want her to get her hopes up!
