What ever gets me through the night

Hello Mumsnet, I am new here (and not a Mum) but I wanted to say thank you all for being funny, supportive and intelligent companions in the wee small hours of the night. My husband (52 and fit as a fiddle) died suddenly on Friday night. Whilst we were watching Gogglebox ffs. Fine one minute and the next I am calling 999 and giving him CPR.
Anyway, I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by family, friends, neighbours and colleagues all offering support, but let’s face it, however much someone thinks they mean it when they say you can call them in the middle of the night, it’s not really a reasonable thing to do. So - thank you Mumsnet for being there for me. You’re all great. I love the Mumsnet classics, proves I can still laugh.

I'm sorry for your loss Flowers. It's great that you're still able to laugh in the middle of the night - there are some absolute howlers in Classics so I hope they carry on keeping you going when you can't sleep!

I'm so sorry for your loss. It must've been such a huge shock.

Mumsnet is certainly a grand resource in times of need.

So sorry OP. 💐 you sound amazing! You're going to be just fine! Xx

I am so so sorry OP. I am sending you so much love 💜

If you ever need to talk in the middle of the night I can’t recommend samaritans enough. You can call them free on 116123 anytime and have a chat if you’re upset. You don’t have to be suicidal (contrary to popular belief), they’re there if you need someone to talk to and support you and be with you. All my love xx

Oh gosh, so sorry for your loss Whatever. Classics are a good distraction, I love the Korean lady sipping tea one. Take care of yourself x
