I am 41 and split from my ex a year ago. I went on my first date a couple of weeks ago. This date was with someone that I knew 18 years ago. We were really into each other back then but we’re both in relationships at the time so nothing ever happened. We are both now single and went on our first date. It was a fantastic date we still got on really well chatted loads and even had a kiss in the car after. He was a complete gentleman. He picked me up, took me home and paid for dinner.

He text the next day and the day after. I then asked about meeting again. He then didn’t reply till the next day and said he will check dates but he is really busy at the moment. Although I hear from him every couple of days he still hasn’t come back with a date to meet again.

I am a bit confused. If he wasn’t interested surely he wouldn’t message at all. Am I just being impatient???

It sounds like you had a nice date, and he’s let you know he is interested by texting you.
Wait and see what he comes back with, then you’ll know.
Don’t text him again though... the ball is in his court. It’s such a guessing game at the start but try not to overthink it 😁

Thank you for your reply. I am a bit of an over thinker unfortunately. I probably would not have been so bothered if It had been a date with someone I didn't already know. x
