My DH has been in prison for some time now and every single day is a struggle. I’m finding it very very hard at the minute, would just like other people to share how they coped through such a hard time Sad

Sorry to hear this OP - do you have access to charitable support in real life - I know of at least one charity that works with prisoners families - whereabouts are you?

Anothertimesoon · 28/02/2019 18:39

Thanks for the replies I don’t have many people to talk with not a lot really know my situation! Yes I am getting to visit and write @startinover but it’s tough as we also have 3 children so it depends when I get to visit as 2 are in school.

@anothertime soon - look up these guys - whilst I don't have direct experience of them, I know the people.... www.outtherecharity.org/
They are greater Manchester based so if you're in Liverpool etc may not be able to directly help but hopefully at the very least they can put you in touch with some local charities.

I hope you're able to get some support both here and irl....

myrtleWilson · 28/02/2019 19:01

@anothertimesoon - my tagging didn't work - apologies!

Splodgetastic · 28/02/2019 19:06

Sorry just to provide links. I don’t have any personal experience of a partner going to prison. That must be very difficult with children and I do know from our experience with a family member that financially it can be complicated. Hopefully you will get some good support on this thread and have some ideas about where to turn for practical help. Is it is long sentence?

Anothertimesoon · 28/02/2019 19:24

Thank you everyone. @startinover my kids are coping really good the little ones think he’s working away my dd11 knows but not the details, we are very close all of us so that helps. Just have to deal a day at a time but when they are in bed that’s when it hits me. Every night.
@spolge thank you yes financially very difficult but for me it’s more emotionally as I have health problems to so thats really been difficult it’s a long sentence yeah Sad
