Hello,

New poster here and just looking for recommendations and advice on how to get back self confidence after having it destroyed due to various life events and online dating.

I found online dating soul destroying so now having to rebuild my confidence which is going to take a very long time.

Anyone done a self confidence course if there is such a thing?

I think one of the best ways to build self confidence is to set and achieve achievable goals.

Other things which might help are,
Making time for yourself for pampering and self care, love yourself
Make time to improve on something, could be skills, hobbies, appearance
Give time to others, be kind, volunteer, and try to be the best version of yourself, it is very rewarding

Never
Seek validation ONLY from others
Expect that others will always treat you well, instead seek self validation by knowing that you are a good person, so treat others as you would like to treated. If we all did this we would all be treated with respect and kindness!

And laugh, even if it's just you and a silly film

And remember that whatever other people do, it is their own beeswax, its their problem if they are twats (seems plenty of men on OLD are). They are probably miserably trawling through pages of single women for years getting only the very occasional date/sex. They haven't the brain to work out that if they actually dated and committed to one woman they'd get more sex in two weeks than they've had in two years Grin
