I'll set the scene.
Out on a romantic evening in a lovely restaurant. Dancing after dinner, boyfriend says to me:
'Every woman here wants to dance with me'.

Having had a few glasses of wine, I couldn't think of anything to say at the time, although my first thought was fucking do it then. Instead, I carried on with the evening but I'm pretty angry about it now. I'm not sure if I'm being a bit petty as it could have just been an ill thought joke (as he claims), but I think of all the things he could have said that was pretty hurtful.
To be clear, he didn't dance with anyone else, nor did anyone else want to!

I think you were meant to be impressed. He probably swaggers through Tesco and thinks women in cars are looking at him.

He doesn't really have form for it...but the feeling I got was he was joking, but believed it really if that makes sense. Should I have kissed his feet and told him how grateful I was to be in his presence?

Wow!! My ex used to try and make me jealous. I found it hilarious. He would often say the same phrase about various women he knew - "I think she might fancy me a little bit". I literally used to ignore he said it and just start talking about something else. Thankfully, he's an ex now.

Some guys don't understand that women are socialized to be pleasant and friendly (make eye contact, say hello etc) and go through life thinking they're God's gift and all women want them. Unless your boyfriend is Brad Pitt?
