How did you tell your kids?

Hi everyone,

Preparing to leave my H and move in with my parents until I get something else sorted. I don’t expect him to want to co-parent (he hasn’t done any parenting this far).

I have a 1 year old who won’t notice but I would love some advice on what to say to my 4 year old DD. She is bound to have questions and I want to try to be balanced & kind.

What did you tell your DC?

I prepared mine (5 and 3 at the time) by talking about different kinds of love,

  1. friendship love
  2. family love (the strongest and most enduring)
  3. romantic love (which can change over time)
