What do you get a guy you would have been with just over a month for valentine's Day?

OP posts:
JollyGiraffe · 29/01/2019 18:45

I wouldn't get them anything

LatentPhase · 29/01/2019 18:47

Nowt

SouthernComforts · 29/01/2019 18:48

I'd agree to buy eachother nothing. I've fallen into that trap before and it's kinda ruined the whole thing for me now.

SpiritedLondon · 29/01/2019 18:50

Errrr a card. I would expect a card and would buy one certainly ( clearly not one that says To the one I Love). I would probably want to go out too.... that’s the time when you bother with all the hoopla.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 29/01/2019 18:53

A card and a small thing, like his favourite chocolate or something.

SpoonBlender · 29/01/2019 18:53

We never did valentine's day, and after 25 years still don't.

I'd suggest stay in and have a takeaway'n'chill. Assuming you're doing the 'chill' thing :)

wishywashy6 · 29/01/2019 18:53

Maybe just a jokey present and a card??. I'd been with my BF for a month when it was his birthday so I got him a cheap little pressie that was related to a little inside joke we have and a card. Nothing OTT or lovey dovey

LemonTT · 29/01/2019 19:20

Nothing more than a card. A jokey one.

CocoKoko123 · 29/01/2019 19:24

southern how did it ruin the whole thing for you?

MumsyJ · 29/01/2019 19:40

Go out for a meal Smile

punishmepunisher · 29/01/2019 20:03

We've never done V day, it's bollocks.

Readytorewind · 29/01/2019 20:07

Is it 2 weeks since you made it official (hence 4 weeks official on VDay) or 2 weeks since you met??

thinkingcapon · 29/01/2019 20:20

Your last rolo x

Northernlass69 · 29/01/2019 20:27

A funny card.

dilly123 · 29/01/2019 20:30

www.bantercards.com

Very funny possibly offensive cards but something different from usual lovey dovey stuff.

RoseOfSharyn · 29/01/2019 20:32

Have been in this same situation.

I opted for a jokey inappropriate card from lovelayla. (it said 'you're the best thing to ever happen to my vagina' on it Grin)
He loved it!

We are still together and that's now our card company of choice. This years says 'i love you, but every time i bend over you don't have to come behind me and pretend to do me up the arse!'

SouthernComforts · 29/01/2019 20:36

Coco- I've had flowers delivered to my work for the last 3 years, off 3 different guys, all new ish relationships that fizzled out soon after, so I've developed a Pavlov's dog reaction to Valentine's day Grin.

I was fine with it in previous LTR's. But not now, with people I'm only dating.

RoseOfSharyn · 29/01/2019 20:37

If you're gunna go down the jokey card route, bantercards and thortful are also ace.

ILikePaperHats · 29/01/2019 20:39

Offer to c

ILikePaperHats · 29/01/2019 20:40

Sorry ... Offer to cook him at meal at yours? Then hope he turns up with wine and chocs Smile

Dirtybadger · 29/01/2019 20:42

Another one voting nothing.

itssoooofluffy · 29/01/2019 20:54

Agree with PPs, there are some great funny cards out there.

Or if you are doing the Netflix and ‘chill’ thing, you could treat yourself to something nice to wear and call it a present for him Grin

CocoKoko123 · 29/01/2019 21:00

I’ve probably gone ott and am planning a funny card from thortful and a small food hamper (both with thoughtful/relevant items) for guy I will have been seeing for a couple of weeks by then.

CocoKoko123 · 29/01/2019 21:00

Oops meant MONTHS not weeks!not that crazy lol!

MumsyJ · 29/01/2019 21:03
