Very Jealous Sister

Bit of a back story - there is 3 years age difference (28 & 31) with me being the younger one, not the closesty bit sisters all the same. Literally if I do anything she always has to either copy me or do one better.

Here is a few examples - I got a puppy 2 years ago, she got one 1 month later. She doesn't take it for a walk or do anything with it it was just because I got one and my mum was spending a lot of time with me and the very cute puppy she got jealous.

I surprisingly got engaged in Paris in November - Low and behold literally before I got back home to the UK her and her husband had booked a trip to Paris.

Wedding booked, I played a massive part in hers in regards to effort made and because she is jealous of the type of wedding I am having (very different tastes) she wont even entertain a conversation about it with me.

I am getting to the point that is pissing me off and upsetting me but would AIBU to call her out on it. She has a history of cutting people off for months for disagreeing with her!! Opinions welcomed :D

Is she generallyanxious and lacking in confidence? Or purely competitive? Maybe if you challenge her and she flies into a sulk and blocks you, you'll get a break from her copying you.

I had a friend like this, it's bonkers isn't it.

She got pregnant just after me, picked the same boys name as me and basically the same girls name.

Drove me nuts. In the end I told her I was getting my kids names tattooed on my ankles and the fool copied. I was never getting a tattoo.

You have to call her out on it op otherwise she'll keep doing it.

Thank you for your replies!

Seriously @myheartbelongsto - That is bloody crazy! I know I do and on a good day she can be really good fun but 95% of the time she is a nightmare. Unfortunately its the only sister I have and when she has had good news or whatever I have been overboard happy for her, shame she acts like this towards me!

She's just a jealous nature, I'd cut her out completely, I don't have the energy for that bullshit, life's too short lovely. I hope you have the Wedding of your dreams, but I suspect her jealousy will attempt to tarnish it in some way. Flowers

None of these things would bother me, and shouldn't bother you either. So she got a puppy after you did? Pah! They went to Paris, and she isn't interested in your wedding... Don't they say that copying is the sincerest form of flattery? She's obviously insecure. You should feel sorry for her.
