Weird question - does anyone work for Dunelm?

Do you have meetings there on non working days? On Sundays?

I feel a bit sick figuring out some lies by my cheating partner. i thought I had been lied to for about 7 months and now I think it might be the majority of teh relationship.

We have already split due to his cheating but things keep entering my head. He used to say he had meetings on Sundays (non working day) at about 4-5pm? Does anyone work there?

Is he a store manager or just a sales assistant?

Hiphopopotamous · 20/01/2019 13:14

I can't imagine any workplace having meetings late on a Sunday!

If you know about some lies there will be others. What's going on?

Madge20 · 20/01/2019 13:15

A sales assistant.

He cheated with a co-worker. I keep thinking of things he said and I'm scared that he cheated for years instead of the months.

Yep I do, they weren't that frequent but full staff meetings used to be on a Sunday around 5 due to the only time the shop was shut and everyone was off. I suppose it depends on the individual store, some might be monthly, others once in a blue moon!
Also late nights at short notice for ME's and de-sale were common, I could well imagine a partner becoming suspicious with the odd and long hours that happen there.
Of course he could be lying too but I can only tell you how it is from a employee's perspective.

Madge20 · 20/01/2019 13:19

Okay that matches what he said @swapsicles I wonder if you're at the same one. Are you in South West?

Yeah I never had any reason to be suspicious, in the end it came out he was cheating for about 6 months with a co-worker. He tried to hide it but it all came out in the end. I'm finding it hard when things come up like this, I wonder what was true.

Sorry shouldn't ask location never mind that. Thanks, what you said is the same.

Damage is done now, just hard because I didn't get any answers, he just walked away with her and never looked back. Now and then I get a panic that maybe I was lied to for years.

No not south west but I know Dunelm and other retail stores have meetings then, can't have them anytime the stores are open as some staff have to work and miss out (sometimes not a bad thing!) so either sunday at a reasonable time or weekdays around 9!
There is the chance he was cheating then I guess but nothing you can do but look forward from now on :)

Thanks everyone. I'm moving on, just hate that I don't know my own reality. Suppose it doesn't matter, he did it, it's done. Hate not knowing what was real and what wasn't and someone mentioned that he was probably lying about those meetings and I felt a bit sick.

Thanks again for the replies.

Most retail places I have worked have had meetings sunday evenings as shop shuts early so only opportunity they have time wise.

Madge20 · 20/01/2019 14:01

Thanks Notquite, yeah I did think that must be the case. I think there was only one meeting he lied about really, I just suddenly had a panic that maybe I had been a mug for years.

Our retail store has staff meetings on a Sunday at 5pm, as Monday to Saturday we are open til 8pm.
Likewise our Christmas party and social nights are always on a Sunday.
