Name change because this is embarrassing....

I have known someone through work and only talked to them through facebook, usually couple times a week, for some years now. So not a randomer - have mutual friends and work ect - but never met in real life. They live quite far away. I feel like it would be nice to meet up, but I don't know how to orchestrate this because there's no reason I would bump into them. Am not sure what to do.

Do you ever have reason to be in their town? As in, "I have a meeting in [their town] a week on Friday. Are you free for a drink at all?"

That's assuming you don't feel you can ask them outright for a date.

Can you travel there and back in a day or meet half way? Why don’t you just say something like, ‘I’m off on Saturday, why don’t we meet up for lunch?’
