Help finding my father

I'm in my mid 20's and have never known my biological father. I have next to no information about him other than a name, vague description and rough location (N.E.Lincolnshire) although DM spitefully remarked that he probably gave her a fake name anyway - I don't really believe that. They had a very short unofficial relationship and she never visited him at home.

When I was a child I was in a community centre in that area and a man fitting the description came in and gave his name at reception, he was there for some group class or other. I didn't have the courage to approach him and ask. I feel like I missed my chance, if it were him.

I've done brief online searches and contacted men via the telephone directory who have his name but everybody I spoke with said I had the wrong person and they didn't know him. I've tried Facebook too.

I'm desperate to know where I came from Sad

Can anybody help or advise me? I'm heavily pregnant so don't really have alot of spare money to put into intermediary services.

I do a bit of genealogy and can have a look on the sites I subscribe to.

I’ve sent you a private message.

You could contact the Salvation Army for help as they operate a family tracing service. I would use an organisation such as them as an intermediary.

Maybe do one of those ancestry DNA to connect to possible relatives.

23andme do the DNA matching. Google it.
