How to keep busy after a breakup

Hi

After my recent thread, I'm looking for some tips on how to keep busy after a breakup.

What's worked best for all of you?

I tend to overthink everything if I'm left to sit and think

Exercise, getting fit works for me!

bluesaturday · 12/01/2019 17:58

Lots of reading and listening to music.

RealEyes · 12/01/2019 17:59

Music just makes me sad.

I'll go to the gym

I am in the same boat OP. Things ended on Tuesday. I managed 2 days NC (absolute hell) but just whatsapped him, like a total nob. Sigh.

Plan something, like a holiday with family or friends - or by yourself! how about reviewing your 'look' for Spring? Browsing fashion shops (in my case charity shops because poor Grin) basically things that look forward, not back. I can lose hours on YouTube, looking at ways to do hair, makeup, exercise - or cat vids Wink

Exercise , cleaning , cleared out wardrobes, spending time with friends .... have something lined up every weekend... be creative with ideas re what to do to avoid spending money you don’t have !

basically keeping very busy ... in many different ways ... also try to sleep more ... I find I cope better when I’m less tired ....

It’s hard .... but you will get there ... I’m sorry you’re hurting it really is tough ... ( I’m there too at the moment) take care of yourself x

Reading, box sets, music, pamper nights. Wine nights with friends. And finding a new hobby of some sort

Paint some walls. Deep clean. Exercise- swimming/gym. Learn a new language online for free (only going to take up 10 minutes at a time but it's productive). Films.

Join some groups- depending on what your interests might be (sports, politics, charity, crafts, etc).

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 12/01/2019 19:11

Exercise. A good book. Reorganising wardrobe/cupboards. Having a clearout. Planning a holiday. Batch cooking.

Hope you feel cheerier soon.

RealEyes · 12/01/2019 19:14

Thank you all.

I'm planning my summer holiday
