Scared of practicalities

I have an appointment with CAB next week but looking for bit of a hand-hold & personal experiences if anyone can.

I am leaving my DP, but so scared of all the practical stuff. How will I rent anywhere independently when I don't have a credit rating, he is the one with that?

What is a normal custody arrangement? How do you sort one out? I will be moving at least an hour away with DD. Have mentioned interview in my prior thread. I'm actually a student parent starting uni next year. He was so encouraging at first and supported everywhere I applied to (2nd choice is 5 hours away) but now he is angry and I should have waited until we had more money (even though I had to do it now or we would run out of money).

How do I sort out benefits in a different local authority? Can I apply as soon as I know I'm moving there?

Should I accept less maintenance if he has to spend petrol money picking up DD even though he supported my applications?

How do you support a 3 year old through separation, house move, when they're settled with friends and everything? I love our home here, I'm going to miss it so much.
