Does your OH receive instagram messages from randoms?

Hi all

Im just wondering if ita normal for randoms to be messaging people on instagram?

So he says its just randoms or fake accounts etc and he never replies to them but surely people dont send that many messages to strangers?

He does follow accounts showing half naked pictures and likes them so I guess thats how they find his user name.

Just wondering what peoples opinions are on this please?

I would be more put off by his teenage behaviour of following and liking picture of half naked randoms

Woah. I wouldn’t be happy with my dh following half naked accounts and liking those pics! Instant dump from me if he wouldn’t stop doing it.

My dh has a large Instagram following because of his hobby and he hardly receives any messages at all. Just people following him.

Yes, there is definitely spam of various sorts on any social media. My dh only has instagram for his business so I don’t imagine he gets loads, but yes, if you are following all sorts of likely fake naked girl accounts, you’re going to attract some interesting spam. The fact he’s liking and following that stuff on a public forum is super gross though. My dh watches porn (which I have no problem with), but I’d be pretty disgusted with him if my mum and everyone else could see he was staring at other people’s boobs on social media. It’s a bit tactless frankly.

I know it is weird ive kind of put it along the same lines as porn which obvioisly he watches. I guess most guys do.

He deletes all of the messages. And im sure he replied to one of them just saying Hello how are you. But even still.

True his family probably see all the pics he likes I guess. Not really used to using it properly myself.

Im just not sure how to approach it again or what would be acceptable. Ie should he not follow half naked women? I guess its more like swimwear models..

I get spam messages and I’m always amazed at how, because my profile is private so it’s not like they can see my posts following any trends. On my other Instagram, which is public and used for fitness and has lots of hash tags, I do get loads of directed spam, ie try this shake, what about these gym clothes etc. But on my main account which is private, I get random women asking if I’d like to see their foof (I’m a girl!). It’s not an every day thing though. Maybe one random message request a week. It could, however, be linked to photos that I “like” and as I don’t use Insta as much as Facebook, maybe that’s why I don’t get many, because I don’t “like” a lot.

I get messages on Insta quite a lot, never replied to any of them, and follow lots of attractive men who often have their tops off.

I don't see the issue myself.

I get loads of private messages on Instagram from random men I don't know, don't follow etc. I don't know why, but I can get a couple of messages every day at times. I absolutely hate it! I even have that I'm married in my profile, but that doesn't seem to stop them. I replied to one, asking if we knew each other, and he just replied that he liked my profile pic and wanted to get in touch.

I don't follow accounts with half naked pics, though.

I get A LOT of messages from random men so he could definitely be telling the truth about that. I’m attempting to attach a screenshot so you can see (first time uploading an image here so sorry if you can’t see). They say weird stuff like “miss you gorgeous”- who even are you???- and “I love you sexy” Some of them are quite persistent and will send messages over several days, or even weeks, either repeats of earlier messages or things like “why won’t you talk to me?” when they’re ignored.

The stuff about liking half naked photos is a different matter though. I’d say if you’re comfortable with it then it’s fine, but if not you should maybe talk about it.

I have a private insta and almost every day I get spam messages from 'sexy' fake accounts. I am a woman lol.

Yup, get a load of random messages on my losing weight account where I follow other fitness folks. I liked this ripped arab guys six pack pic the other day and had a message from him instantly. Some people use it as a dating site, others for internet marketing. I don't reply to any of them.

My cat has an Instagram account and even she gets messages from male humans....

I've set my account so only people I follow can send me messages. It really helps

I'd be more interested in the actual messages and if he replies. If he doesn't then I wouldn't worry
