Close friend behaves weirdly

Hi,

I had a close friend who is a mum of my son's friend from school. We used to be really close and tell each other stuff and also used to hang out together till last year. This academic year, her son and my son are in different classes and I noticed that she no longer wants to hang out with me and she has a new neighbour with whom she hangs out quiet a lot. I am just wondering if this lady was actually a friend of mine or was she using me all along? She also never invites my kids for play dates any more and never responds to my invites too although we do chat in school with each other.

Ofcourse, i have other friends too..but never seen this kind of strange behaviour.

You were convenient, now you're not. Or there's a better offer.

Some people are just like that I'm afraid.

You were acquaintances through a shared circumstance. These sorts of relationships are not uncommon when you're a mum IME but maybe you just weren't prepared. If you have multiple children the same thing occurs as you end up with new friends via each child
