Hi all,

Can anyone give me some advice on changing myname?

I recently got married and we have the same surname (not related lol!) this means it's only my title I have to change but I don't know how to go about it.

Any help would be appreciated, Smile

Thanks!

I think you choose your title? AFAIK.

No need to do anything. Use whatever title you like.

And you don't have to change your surname either even if it's different to your new husband's.

So you were, for example, Miss Smith and you married Mr. Smith and so you're now Mrs. Smith? Cool. My grandparents also had the same surname pre marriage. Congratulations on your recent nuptials and you don't really have to do anything about changing your name as titles such as Mrs. aren't legally protected. There's no Mrs. or Miss on a passport or a driver's license. There is on a bank card though so I guess you could contact the bank to let them know that you want to use Mrs. now instead of Miss. They should send you out a new card, not sure if there's a charge.

Yeah I was Miss Price and now I'm Mrs Price Smile. That's great thanks, I wasn't sure how it all worked and we're hoping to apply for a mortgage soon so didn't know if my title had to be legally changed.
