So I found out I was pregnant with a man that I've been on and off with for 3 years. This time round he seemed genuine and ready to have a relationship, he spoiled me and put it more effort than before. I told him I was pregnant and he turned on me and as the days went by he drifted more and more until he would ignore me. He then said he was coming round to discuss with my parents as I'm only 20 and he is 22, he didn't even turn up as he said he was too busy.

I was so hurt that after I replied saying he let me down he continued to ignore me so I blocked his number and any social media.

I'm so heart broken and I am dreading hearing ha has moved on, I'm keeping the baby as I don't need him.

I was thinking about keeping him blocked until I find out the gender and telling him but I know he won't care.

I also feel as if I won't move on as I can't meet anyone new for a while but I reckon having a baby will take my mind of that and hopefully take up my whole heart

Or you’ll feel so low being a single parent and knowing you’re tied to this guy you’ll keep going round the on again off again merry go round with this guy for another three years while he drifts in and out of the child’s life as he sees fit...

Seriously, this has disaster all over it. Why do you think you can only get over him by meeting someone new? A baby doesn’t come into the world to meet your emotional needs and stop you from going back to an ex that isn’t good for you. You’re twenty but sound very young for your age. Have you got much support with this baby? Do you have your own place and a solid income?

He's walked away for good, I have lots of support and have a really good income for my age. I don't think the baby would have any issues what so ever being brought up otherwise I wouldn't of continued to keep the baby without him. I won't let him come in and out of the child's life either and neither will my family, I'm just sad at the moment I will feel different when I see the baby and know everything's oky but I'm only 6 weeks so I'm just finding it rather hard... the baby is not here to meet my emotional needs, I find that bit harsh as I will do my absolute best for the baby?@BaskingSharks

Sorry OP, it was when you said this also feel as if I won't move on as I can't meet anyone new for a while but I reckon having a baby will take my mind of that and hopefully take up my whole heart

You’re saying you hope the baby will take up your whole heart, as you won’t be able to move on without meeting someone new (which you’ve said won’t be for a while). Just seems that if you’re gonna have a baby alone you really ought to be okay with being single and prepared to do your best for the baby rather than expecting a baby to provide you with emotional sustenance. But if everything you’ve said in your second post is the case it sounds like you feel well prepared and have considered all angles, as far as is possible so far anyway.

Bloody hell give the girl a break. OP you can do this and you don't need him. I'm a single parent and I was 19 when I had my daughter. It's hard and yes ideally we wouldn't choose to be that way but your baby will take up your heart and much more. You will get stronger just don't do the on off thing with him anymore. With a baby involved it can't be casual on off. You will be just fine x

Thank you so much @twilightsaga feel better now and I've just blocked him on everything now I doubt he will even bother to try get in touch x
