Witnesses needed for wedding in Stevenage - 12 December

Random post but wondering if anyone can help. My gf and I are getting married on the morning of 12 December in Stevenage and are looking for witnesses.

We really didn’t want the fuss of a big wedding so are doing this in secret. The registry office are not able to provide witnesses and their suggestion of pulling people off the streets on the morning sounds really stressful. We weren’t sure who to ask, then noticed some other couples in the same predicament previously on the forum so thought it was worth a try.

We’re told it should only take 30 minutes, would really appreciate anyone who could spare the time.

P.S. this is a same-sex wedding, hope this wouldn’t affect someone witnessing but thought I’d give all info just in case.

It's 10:30AM on Weds 12 December. It's Danesgate in Stevenage which is next to Matalan - there are car parks nearby (we'll be happy to pay for anyone's parking) I assume there will be blue badge parking but I'm not sure sorry.

Just wanted to leave a final post to say thanks so much to everyone that reached out. We had several responses offering help which really helped take the stress out of the day! Thanks to all the well wishers and support on here too. Our wedding was short and sweet, exactly what we wanted.

Someone showed up unexpectedly, we believe called Zoe - but we were unfortunately only allowed two witnesses into the room we booked. Thank you for your support and sorry we couldn’t squeeze you in too.
