sister not talking to me

My younger sister has not spoken to me since May. She upset me on my birthday with things she said and because i retaliated and told her a few home truths she has decided she never wants to speak to me again. I have asked her if we can just move on from it as it is really upsetting my 88 year old mother, however she will not even consider it.
I am unsure whether to be the bigger person and buy her a xmas present, although another part of me thinks ' why the hell should i'. She and my mother are going away for xmas so she doesn't have to see me. We have always had christmas together for the last 58 years. I am not really bothered if i see her again as she can be difficult, but i feel sorry for my mum and it makes it difficult for the wider family

Spoilt selfish cow syndrome? She can say thing to you that hurt by not the other way around?, My Sister was the same.
Will your Mom take sides?

Xmas together the last 58 years! What the hell?

Don't buy her a present and it's not something to even fret over. Why would you get her a present if she hasn't spoken to you since May and continues to not want to speak to you? Presents are not meant as a tool to control someone to force them to communicate.

Mum tries not to take sides, but my sister lives with her so she does get influenced by her. I can only visit mum now if my sister isnt there. My sister has a few health issues and my mum doesnt want to upset her or stress her out

Hold on. If you normally spend Christmas with both why is your mother allowing to go away at Christmas.

Sorry but she clearly had taken sides and the fact you can't go to the house when she is around means even more your mother has taken sides. You are being punished for putting up with no more shit. Its hard and hurtful and lonley. But she seems toxic from what you said and your mum had some blame in this also.
