Cannot use Netflix

Blondebakingmumma · 29/11/2018 13:34

Cannot use Netflix because hubby gave account access to MIL and his brother and wife. Now they are both using and I cannot use our account because too many devices are logged on 😭
I know it’s first world problems but I’m exhausted and just want to lay down and watch a show and then go to sleep

Get a bigger package or change the password.

mollibu · 29/11/2018 13:35

OP, go onto the Netflix website on your phone and somewhere in settings is a button to log everyone that's currently logged on, out of your Netflix Smile

YippeeKayakOtherBuckets · 29/11/2018 13:36

Log them out and change the password.

Minniemagoo · 29/11/2018 13:36

If you login to change the password you can force a logout of all connected devices. Open Netflix for yourself and change the password back after all devices are disconnected so you can plead ignorance as to why they were logged out.

I do this regularly with the kids.

Blondebakingmumma · 29/11/2018 13:38

Bummer, I’ve already complained to hubby about not having access. It’s going to be obvious if I kick someone off now and they call to ask for tech support

I do the above..., changed password and log all devices out... other option pay an extra £1 and get three screebs

Blondebakingmumma · 29/11/2018 13:39

Thanks, I’ll keep it in mind for next time

It annoys me that we would have to pay extra money to use our own account. We have mentioned getting a family Spotify account to share ie BIL and his wife pay, but they are interested in forking our their own money

Just boot them all off and change the password. It's your account and you should have priority over it. Why don't they pay for their own account?

Who cares if it is obvious. It's your account.

Blondebakingmumma · 29/11/2018 14:11

Why would they pay for their own account when they can use ours 😕

OP posts:
wasthataburp · 29/11/2018 14:13

Don't pay more. Just boot them out and change password. I do that all the time. My hubby gave his mum and dad our account details so whenever I can't get in I just boot them out. If they ask for the new password give it to them but one of them won't get in as we are now watching

bethy15 · 29/11/2018 14:24

They pay for theirs because you cannot use yours, the one who pays for it, as they, who don't pay for it are using it.

Change the password and tell them you've cancelled it.

Blondebakingmumma · 29/11/2018 14:40

All good advice thanks. Was expecting everyone to say I am being selfish and unreasonable

memoriestwilight · 29/11/2018 14:44

They won't pay £5.99 a month ffs.

Twinningsloverbutnotanymore · 29/11/2018 14:56

My hubby did this - paid for Spotify then his brothers/sisters used it same with Netflix, I literately told him no more, we weren't paying for people to use things when they hardly even bother to text him. Just say you want to cancel the subscription and don't tell them you have it - that's what I did :D

ChodeofChodeHall · 29/11/2018 15:13

I would not hesitate to kick them off and change the password!

Ellisandra · 29/11/2018 15:17

I think booting everyone else out when you’ve already told your husband is going to look petty.

Weird that 3 people are on Netflix at 15:15 on a Thu though?

I’d send a group WhatsApp “hey all, I’m trying to get into my Netflix account but looks like everyone is in at the moment so I can’t get in - can you please log out if you’re not watching?”

Then wait 10 mins and boot all of them out... because they’re either not watching (if they’re just watching TV, they should see your message) or they’re selfish fuckers who know they’re blocking you from your own account.

We are in Australia, so it was around 9pm here

What did you do in the end?

Ellisandra · 29/11/2018 17:14

I did wonder! So... did you ask them to log off?

Blondebakingmumma · 29/11/2018 20:41

I went to bed
