Hacked Tinder?

I've name changed as I have family/friends on here and don't want to out myself Blush

So I've been on Tinder a while... had a few dates but nothing came of them.

Met a guy on Saturday... he was pleasant enough and we've arranged to meet up again. BUT I get the impression he's "love bombing" me which although flatters the ego after being single for ages does make me question his incentives.

For background, and without wanting to sound big headed, I've progressed much further in life than he has although that in itself isn't enough to put me off. We got on really well, and had a cheeky snog with plans to see each other again.

What's worrying me, is we matched on Tinder about 3 weeks ago. Spoke on the phone earlier this evening and he told me he'd deleted his account.

No problems with that except I said I hadn't been on there for a while too. But made it clear I'd had notifications which I'd ignored since I met him.

Rightly or wrongly, I was curious to catch up on Tinder after our conversation ended and it's now saying in there that there is no one around me?! Which is mad as I've never come across this before (I live between two massive cities)

I'm also unable to read any messages which I know I've received (but ignored) or view my own profile.

Do any of you wise mumsnetters or tinder experts think I may have been hacked...? Thank you Smile

Tinder can do some strange things if you’re not accessing it via your WiFi.

Absolutelycluelessdater · 20/11/2018 22:32

That's the thing though... I'm accessing it at home via my wifi. Never use it when I'm out and about.

Just seems odd after the conversation I had earlier with this guy that I can't access my account. Matches, messages, notifications or anything Confused

Just wondered if anyone had experience of this...

I'm not sure what's going on OP but I don't think the first conclusion I'd come to would be hacking .

What about turning your phone off and on again.

MarthaArthur · 21/11/2018 01:26

Op my tinder plays up allthe time my photo keeps deleting and my messages sometimes dont come up. It says tony messaged you but then there will be no message and then hours later it pops up. Sounds like a tinder glitch.

JuniperBeer · 21/11/2018 01:39

Log out. Log back in again? Close the app. Restart your phone. It’s a known glitch. Google it and it shows

I don't get your post?

Do you think he hacked it?

hellsbellsmelons · 21/11/2018 09:56

Flippin' 'eck!
It's a bit odd isn't it!?
I'd get in touch with Tinder and see if they can investigate.
Try it without WiFi first and see if that does anything.

Notacluewhatthisis · 21/11/2018 11:05

It's not really that odd. Apps play up all the time. People were reporting, yesterday, that when they logged into Facebook, it looked like they had only just joined and invited them to start adding friends.

Then they fixed it and their Facebook app is back to normal.

Tech fucks up sometimes.
