Divorce - Getting Ready

I would really appreciate some advice from women who have been through or are going through a divorce.

I have decided that i must part ways with my husband but before i tell him, i want to get my ducks all in order, so to speak. Typical situation - he works full time, i have our child full time and maintain the house alongside a small business. I left my employment to have out child. He has a large pension in waiting for when that time does. I have very little in way of pension or savings.

Can anyone give me any advice as to what documents i should be collating or other pieces of information before that time comes when i tell my husband i want a divorce? I am doing this in fear he will start to "hide" things from the solicitors.

Much appreciated.

Any paperwork relating to salary or assets.

Mortgage statement.
Details of life insurance.
Pension statements.
Savings and investments.
Any outstanding debts.

Starting point is 50%. You may be able to negotiate more, or to stay in the house until your child has left education. Everything allocated in the spirit of need and equity so even though you are a lower earner and will have (I assume) full custody of your child, your dh does have to be able to House himself for example.
