Many many years ago (probably about 20) I looked into it. They wanted £900 for an afternoon of following someone. It involved the underground in London as well as landline trains, it wasn’t an easy job. In the end I decided I was worth the money more than he was, so I didn’t proceed and I had a great time with the cash.

The advice from most on here would be that if it’s at this stage, it’s not the right relationship for you.

Yes but not in the context of a relationship. It was to track down a particularly vile paedophile, I wanted to see if further evidence could be gathered and passed to the police. He did (or does) do marital work though. I was worried about finding a reliable and good one and found this him actually through a BBC radio programme, then googled his name. He is an ex-Inspector so he knew a lot of police procedure and human nature . I think the trade is (or was?) unregulated so it's important to find a good one.

I would say be very clear of your remit and be clear about how much you want to spend.

But yes, if you're thinking of one for a relationship then it's become an unhealthy one already.

SeaEagle thanks for your reply - I don't want to put specifics but it's very closely linked to your own experience. Would you be able to give me the name or can you PM me? I'd be interested in cost too.

I'll have a look but it was some years ago now, 2010 I think. Just going out so I'll look tomorrow, nps.

I have, for work purposes. Normally we give them a budget and they work to that. £1,000 would generally get us two days of surveillance but appreciate London/SE or private jobs might be pricier.

SeaEagleFeather · 22/10/2018 21:44

PM'd you.

Interesting about giving them a budget, craic. I did that to the one I used and was kinda expecting a summary of how the money had been spent but didn't get one.

Thank you Sea Eagle - I'm abroad on holiday at the moment but will read your message tomorrow :)

Yes for finding information about people in relation to work. Didn't cost much actually, between £250 and £400 I think (but it was approximately 15 years ago so likely more now).
