Separated in August , police called out cause he asulted me again ! Now he knows I mean business and I'm happier on my own he point blank ignores all my messages regarding our 3 DC. Reads them but ignores it. Contact is on his terms and usually spur of the moment , I don't know if he is going to give me money this month .
I asked his sister to pass message to him re child maintenance and contact she just gives me that he is stressed depressed and homeless and to stop harassing them 😕. I'm struggling

You will need to formalize cms and contact.

How old are the dc?

Go the the CMS and apply, perhaps tell him ahead of time that it will happen.
Don't bother with his family as they seem unsupportive/enablers. Whilst I would support my brother I would encourage him to step up to his responsibilities.

As the victim of DV you should get access to legal aid.

How long does CM take to come through ? I'm really struggling and I don't want to go to a food bank yet again as it's embarassing enough as it is

Accept/proactively find what help you can get.

Sort the legal route out asap for child maintenance and contact.

I'd stop messaging him unless an emergency and get CMS to organise his financial obligations on your behalf.

Have you claimed all the benefits you are entitled to ?

Check you are getting all the benefits you can.
Contact CMS and get maintenance payments that way.
Does he work?
When his sister says he is homeless. Is he on the streets?
Stop contacting him.

No he is living with her , he finally called me back saying he would put money in today but hasn't . CMS are going to write to him , yea he works full time earns 400 a week before tax
