Selfishness? Or love?!

Me and my partner have been together a few years now and have a toddler. We seem to argue a lot and sometimes things get aggressive and heated. He's lied a couple of times recently and done stuff I'm struggling to forgive. We've broken up and gotten back together and both off us have things we need to work on with each other and separately. We're both questioning staying together. Whenever we talk about splitting up it always comes back to "but we love each other" but is that enough? Or are we being selfish putting our daughter through this?
My main concern is we will both work on our problems and once's solved I'll realise what a massive mistake I've made and I'm so scared. An advice would be greatly appreciated!

Argue a lot? Aggressive and heated? Your child shouldn’t be in that environment. Separate. Sort your own issues and then tackle relationship ones.
Then maybe it could work.
Or split and don’t look back.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails - Corinthians 13:4-8
