I barely bleed at at even though periods are regular

I’ve been to the doctors as it has Mande me worried about fertility. They said it doesn’t mean there is a problem.

I am 33 and single and so already worried about it all anyway, as I really want a family.

My periods used to be quite normal but now they are very light and have been for the last 3 years. They also only last 4 days max. I don’t even need to wear a tampon sometimes, I can just manange it with trips to the loo (sorry if TMI).

Has this happened to anyone else?

Sorry post should say ‘barely bleed at all’

Did your Dr explain why? E.g. contraception, etc? Or just say "don't worry" ?

blorgzorb · 17/10/2018 17:06

Mine are(were) the same. Maybe a couple of days with the junior tampons then another couple of days of very light spotting. I'm 36 and 6 months pregnant, conceived the first month I tried. Anecdotal but hopefully helps put your kind at rest a bit!

Dr said that my memory of them being heavier may be when I was taking the pill. And actually my ‘real’ period was since I was off it. Took the pill from 18 to 25 so that could be the case.

Thanks for the other story blorgz makes me feel better!

Mine were only ever three days and pretty light. I don't think its that unusual. Just lucky.

hallenties · 17/10/2018 17:54

I’m starting to worry about it all. Haven’t even met anyone yet

Mine are also very light and I had a baby last year at 41 so I doubt it's an issue.

SuperSuperSuper · 17/10/2018 18:12

You sound like my mate (a mum of two, by the way). Regular, very light and painless.

Lucky buggers, the pair of you!

Not much help but mine are similar. Used to be around 5 days, sometimes fairly heavy but in the last couple of years have gone down to 2-3 days and very light. I'm 31. DH and I have only just started TTC, this month was the first month and nothing but think I'll just have to wait and see. It did worry me in case it was a sign of fertility issues but then I've thought surely getting it at all is a good sign?
Also, I used to work with someone eho went through early menopause, they went on to conceive a beautiful baby at 42 through IVF so I would try not to worry about your age or anything too much. Plenty of people conceive much older than you.

BertramKibbler · 17/10/2018 18:34

Mine are similar except they last just 3 days. I’ve had 3 children whilst they’ve been this way

Wardrobee · 17/10/2018 18:36

Mine is very similar. Very light no pain barely last 3 days. I haven’t had any problems conceiving, 3 pregnancies and 2 babies. Please don’t worry.

Lemond1fficult · 17/10/2018 19:23

I'm the same - always have been. Tampons useless.

I was getting a bit worried, so I now track my periods on the Natural Cycles app, and use ovulation tests to make sure it's actually happening every month. I don't always catch it (your luteal phase is only 10hrs long ffs) but it helps set my mind at rest.

EvaPerron · 17/10/2018 19:29

Yep very very light periods here too, only really one proper day but I got pregnant at 38 with no problem at all. Don't worry!!

hallenties · 17/10/2018 20:49

Ah thanks for the posts! It’s really nice to hear that people have had similar and it’s not affected them!

My mum always gloated that she had periods like that. 3 days, light , no cramps no pms. There I was a spotty, hormonal , heavy 7 day bleeder. Anyway she had another baby at 43. Even more annoying she had no menopause symptoms other than her periods just stopped.

hellsbellsmelons · 19/10/2018 12:48

Mine were the same.
For over a decade.
Try not to worry - we are all different.
